Galilee Silks offer exciting handcrafted luxury silk products. They specialise in making beautiful Judaica items and tasteful, modest fashion in high quality hand dyed raw silk. Based in Kibbutz Beit Haemek in the Galilee, in northern Israel, this thriving enterprise began as the brainchild of kibbutz member Shlomit Azati in 1992. After her mother passed away she sought a creative outlet and persuaded the kibbutz to let her use a small workroom as a studio.
Shlomit began her business making scarves and soon expanded into Judaica items and apparel. Nowadays she runs Galilee Silks together with designer Hadar Zaks, and the company employs 20 women. The company prides itself on its environmentally friendly production and cooperative work environment. The kibbutz based studio includes workers from nearby Arab villages and immigrants. These dedicated ladies are all fabric artists and skilled craftsmen who constantly strive for superior quality and beauty.
Galilee Silks are a leading silk product designer with gorgeous results.
